We sat down with Mila Laurent, the founder of plūmm, a women-led sexual wellness brand known for its discreet intimacy pillows developed with leading specialists. Here’s her story, straight from her.

plūmm: Thanks for joining us, Mila. To start, tell us a little about yourself.

Mila: I’m a women’s health advocate, product designer, and a firm believer that comfort and confidence are essential parts of intimacy. I’ve always cared deeply about creating products that women feel proud to own, not hide.

plūmm: What inspired you to start a sexual wellness brand focused on intimacy pillows?

Mila: My own experience. I struggled with discomfort and frustration in my sex life for years. I tried many pillows marketed for intimacy, but most were either ineffective or so obvious looking that I didn’t want them in my bedroom. It made me realize there was a real need for something effective and discreet, made with women’s bodies and spaces in mind.

plūmm: When you set out to create a better pillow, what was your process like?

Mila: I wanted to do it right. I partnered with gynecologists, pelvic floor specialists, and menopause care experts to understand anatomy, alignment, and comfort needs. We spoke with women across ages and life stages. Every conversation informed the design, from shape and materials to size and aesthetics.

plūmm: What makes the plūmm pillow different from others on the market?

Mila: A few things stand out. It’s designed with verified medical expertise, not guesswork. The shape supports natural alignment instead of forcing awkward positions. And importantly, it looks like something that belongs on your bed, not hidden under it.

plūmm: What feedback has surprised you most since launching?

Mila: How many women have told me it’s changed how they feel about intimacy. It’s one thing to make something functional, but when someone says it’s helped them feel more present, confident, or comfortable, that’s incredibly rewarding.

plūmm: plūmm is now loved by thousands of women. What’s next for the brand?

Mila: We’re focused on building community and continuing to educate. Sexual wellness should feel natural and supported, not awkward or clinical. We’re exploring new products and resources that help women feel confident in their bodies at every stage of life.

plūmm: Last question. Any advice for women who haven’t found solutions that work yet?

Mila: Trust your experience and your body. Don’t settle for products that make you uncomfortable or ashamed. Better solutions exist, and you deserve comfort, pleasure, and confidence without compromise.
